    Please allow me to introduce myself, I’m Jacqueline and I have been living at Commonplace Coop in Chorlton the last 4 years and am a current member.

    Since October 2019 I have felt coerced and harrassed to do things I didn’t want to under the threat of eviction.

    I am also a vulnerable, and disabled tenant, so such experiences have made me feel lonely and, at times, scared to leave my room (even for work) for fear of physical harm from other members.

    Over the last few months I have tried to seek support and solace by speaking through my experiences with others. From this, I learnt that others have had experiences with the coop. This is why I am reaching out to you.

    I am currently pursuing legal action against the group and collecting evidence of this being repeated behaviour and not an isolated event that has only happend to one person.

    Please, if you have anything to add or are willing to speak to me about your experiences with this coop I would really like to speak with you. Alternatively, you can simply fill in the questionnaire, or send it on to someone who you know may have had similar experiences.

    I am going to court on the 30th of August so will need a response before then – I hope you understand.

    The co-op was given 5 properties by the council under the condition that it would house vulnerable people not create them.

    Your shared experiences could help get this co-op back on track and hopefully become community focused, as it was meant to be.
